KIX – The Story of a Street Kid

Kix is the coming-of-age story of a 7-year-old street kid, a self taught fine artist. Sanyi is nothing less than a pioneer of urban Dadaism, his art characterised by both simplicity and wild expressiveness. He creates intense moments that stretch the sacral confines of conformity as he reaches beyond words and into action. He lives with his brother, parents and grandmother in a tiny one-room apartment. Having no room of his own, Sanyi instinctively spreads his living space into the outside world, using any thing or situation that comes to hand to amuse himself and mates. Sanyi is now 15 years old and in the full throws of teenage. A tumultuous time in anyone’s life, and especially Sanyi’s, who is on the verge of making decisions which will terminate his life path. The combination of the natural and surreal storytelling will culminate when ‘Sanyi’ attempts to create his own “home”.
‘’I don’t want anything, just to have fun, that’s all really...’’
– Sanyi
